Ontario, California – On April 20, we had the chance to network with members and non-members at El Torito Grill in Ontario. Conversations started from quiet reservation, but quickly rose to a level of excitement and familiarity. In his welcome to the group, Ebi Okiyefa, IE Education Program Council chairperson, hopes that events like this will help HCE members build an accessible professional network within the IE where members are able to learn from each other and help one another grow in the field of healthcare administration.
Joy Bricker, a new resident of Southern California, was extremely thankful for networking events, such as this one, since her move to the area to pursue her MHA at the University of La Verne. She knows very few people and she hopes to attend as many HCE events as she is able and build relationships to help advance in her career, while making new friends along the way. As the hours went on, so did the food, the drinks and our conversations.
We are thankful to Medix, whose generous sponsorship enabled us to hold our first networking event of the year. We hope to see as many of you as possible at the next event — to share your experiences, stories and advice in the hopes of building a professional network that helps us all.
