We would like to especially recognize Kelly Watson for attaining Fellow and for her volunteer service to HCE.
Kelly Watson, MHA, RN, FACHE is the Orthopedic Service Line Director at Methodist Hospital of Southern California. Her position involves high level oversight of the orthopedic service line which includes clinical pathway redesign, bundle payment program management, staff and patient training, facility design, marketing and business development, quality and performance improvement management, and financial analysis. Kelly has long history with Methodist Hospital, having started as a new-grad Labor and Delivery nurse in 2007, and eventually leading the opening and management of their GYN Oncology Institute in 2014. Prior to her current role, Kelly also worked with Keck Medicine of USC, directing ambulatory operations and strategic development for five outpatient care facilities within the academic medical center’s multi-west Region.
Kelly received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, and an Executive Master of Health Administration from the University of Southern California in 2015. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Regis University.
Ms. Watson values her nursing community by serving as the founder and president of the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses’ Los Angeles Chapter, as well as a team captain for several of the Arthritis Foundation’s community events. She was also a member on the 2017 HCE Annual Conference Planning Committee, which allowed her to work closely with other ACHE members. In addition to work and volunteering, she is devoted to her three young boys, and enjoys co-managing their Little League baseball teams with her husband.
Earning the FACHE designation was a goal of Kelly’s since becoming an ACHE member in 2013. She has a strong desire to continue her education within the healthcare field, and serve as a leader within the industry. Kelly believes being credentialed in healthcare management represents a level of professionalism and accountability to the field, and she is honored to join other fellows that have demonstrated the same commitment.
