Los Angeles, California – On April 7, the biggest-ever College Bowl was held at the California Endowment. Healthcare administration students from twelve universities competed for the coveted title. For the third year in a row, CSU Chico took first place while first-time entrant University of Nevada Las Vegas took second in the Jeopardy-style undergrad competition.
Competitors in the graduate case study competition presented solutions to a case by Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). First-time entrant University of Utah presented a compelling case that won them first place. Local schools UCLA and CSULA won second and third place respectively.
We applaud the following schools, their student participants, their faculty advisers who work hard every year to improve healthcare administration education.
Thank you for participating: CSU East Bay, CSU Long Beach, CSU Los Angeles, CSU Northridge, Loma Linda University, National University, San Diego State University, UCLA, University of Arizona, University of the Pacific, University of Utah, and USC.

Additional thanks to Vizient, without whose support this annual competition would not be possible. Vizient provided monetary awards to the winners.
And finally, kudos to our College Bowl Chairman Dimitrios Alexiou, FACHE, President and CEO, Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Dimitrios is responsible for growing and nurturing this event, enabling it to reach its current level. He has brought together all three ACHE California chapters – CAHL, HCE, and SOHL – and out-of-state schools to develop future healthcare executives. We are confident that this exciting annual event, which the students look forward to each year, will continue to grow in years to come.
