Anaheim, CA – On March 24, 2018, the HCE Orange County Programs Committee participated in the 2018 American Heart Association’s Heart and Stroke Walk at Angels Stadium. This was the first community volunteer event hosted by the OC Programs Committee this year, in part to help our board-eligible members fulfill an advancement requirement, as well as to give to a cause about which we felt passionate. This year’s AHA motto was “Life, is why we walk.” Our Orange County team chose the motto “Leading with Heart is why we walk” to convey our passion for caring for others.
The OC Programs team set a goal to raise $1500. Along with our sponsor, American Career College, and the generous contributions of fellow HCE members and friends, we met our goal. Overall, the AHA has raised $2,001,815 toward a goal of $2,100,000.
OC Program Committee members who participated in the 5K Walk included Anne Tanner, Tricia Kassab, Mark Maramba, Debbie Moysychyn, Lodel Yerro Caplan, Mario Medina, Jennie Combs, and Kenza Bennani.
